8 day Marrakech desert tour in beautiful Morocco. This trip allows you to truly immerse yourself in the magic of the desert, with a variety of activities planned to make the most of your experience. You’ll start your journey in Marrakech, soaking in the sights and sounds of the vibrant city before venturing into the heart of the desert. Expect to ride camels through sand dunes, explore ancient kasbahs, stargaze under the clear desert sky, and make friends with locals along the way.
8 days Marrakech Morocco desert tour itinerary:
Day 1: Marrakech
Arrive in Marrakech and check into your hotel. Use the rest of the day to explore the city, including the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square, the souks of the Medina, and the Koutoubia Mosque.
Day 2: Marrakech
Spend a full day in Marrakech, including a visit to the Majorelle Gardens, a stroll through the Menara Gardens, and lunch at a local restaurant.
Day 3: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate
After breakfast, head to Ouarzazate through the High Atlas Mountains. Stop for a visit at Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a centuries-old fortress that has been used as a backdrop for countless movies. Check into your hotel in Ouarzazate and enjoy dinner in the city.
Day 4: Ouarzazate – Skoura – Dades Gorge
Take a morning drive to the stunning Skoura oasis, known for its beautiful kasbahs. Visit the Kasbah Amridil, one of the oldest and best-preserved kasbahs in Morocco. Head to the Dades Gorge for the night.
Day 5: Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Merzouga
Stop at the Todra Gorge to see the stunning rock formations, then head to the desert town of Merzouga. Ride camels to the desert camp and enjoy a night under the stars.
Day 6: Merzouga
Spend the day exploring the desert on a camel ride and visiting a Berber village to learn about the local culture. Spend another night in the desert camp.
Day 7: Merzouga – Marrakech
After breakfast, drive back to Marrakech and check into your hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing by the pool or shopping at the souks.
Day 8: Departure
Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
