7 days Casablanca Morocco Desert Tour itinerary:
DAY 1: CASABLANCA- RABAT – MEKNES – FES
Our private Morocco Casablanca tour starts today and we pick up you at the airport. After short visit of main attractions in Casablanca we drive towards Rabat to visit main monuments. Then we head to Meknes, and we also visit Roman ruins of Volubilis. We drive to Fes where we stay this night in a local riad or hotel.
DAY 2: FES GUIDED WALKING CITY TOUR
Our private Morocco tour continues visiting the medina in Fes and we walk inside its alleys. We may visit the Jewish quarter and also the Royal Palace in Fes. Then we enjoy the famous tanneries and the Quaraouine mosque which is considered as the first university in the world . We stay overnight in local hotel in Fes.
DAY 3: FES – MIDELT – ERFOUD – RISSANI – MERZOUGA & ERG CHEBBI DESERT:
We travel to Ifrane, called the Switzerland of Morocco and we stop at Azrou. It is a Berber village in the cedar forest and from here we continue to Midelt and Ziz Valley. We’ll drive to Erfoud and Rissani with a few stops. After we arrive in Merzouga, we stay in a local desert hotel.
DAY 4: MERZOUGA DESERT AND CAMEL TREK TO CAMP
Today we explore the Sahara desert in Merzouga by 4×4. We will visit Khamlia village, famous for local Gnawa people, and learn about their traditional music. We will visit the Nomad family living in the desert and later today we will drive to Rissani to visit its local souk. We drive back to the Merzouga and we prepare for a unique camel ride into the desert. Our desert tour will be guided by an experienced camel guide and we explore sand dunes during our camel ride. We will reach the Sahara desert camp to enjoy dinner at a campfire with Berber music. We stay overnight in a desert camp and we may climb high dune to watch sunset in desert.
DAY 5: MERZOUGA DESERT – RISSANI – TODGHA GORGES – DADES GORGES
Today early in the morning we will enjoy watching the desert sunrise in Merzouga. Then we ride camels back to the village and after breakfast we leave for Rissani , and Tinghir to explore Todgha Gorges which are the highest, narrowest Gorges in Morocco. Here we may hike within the amazing valley. After lunch we continue to the Dades Valley and we stay in traditional local hotel with dinner and breakfast.
DAY 6: DADES GORGES – OUARZAZATE – AIT BENHADDOU – MARRAKECH
Today we drive to the city of Ouarzazate passing the route of the 1000’s Kasbahs and we will stop at place called Kalaat Mgouna which is the centre of Roses valley. Here you may purchase the rosewater, which is famous product made from local roses. Then we visit Ouarzazate movie studio, local kasbah and we continue to Ait Benhaddou, to visit local kasbah. Our private Morocco trip continues passing Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass and then we arrive to Marrakech.
DAY 7: MARRAKECH GUIDED TOUR IN MEDINA
On the last day of our private Morocco tour we continue exploring Marrakech visiting the most important sites and historical and cultural places including the Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Tower, the Saadian tombs, the Bahia Palace. We also explore Marrakech souk and then our tour finishes.
